So blogs are pretty evident these days. I haven't been too in-tune with the blogs I must say, except for a rare few that I'll often check up on to see how blogger has entertained their audience for another short period of time. So, I guess you could say I finally 'took the plunge' and decided it was time to get myself a blog. It hasn't become the phenomenon that say Facebook is, but who knows, it could very well turn out to be like that. However, realistically it'd get way too crazy for my liking. Could you imagine having to read so many people's blogs each day? For instance, I have about 500 or so friends on Facebook, and there is absolutely no way in hell that I would be reading the shit-talking paragraphs that would come out of the fingertips of so many douches that take up a friend space on my page everyday. But anyway, this is my first blog, hence 'Blog-ginity'. And as soon as I hit 'publish post' you know that bad boy's gone forever. My blog cherry will have been popped..busted.. obliterated if you will. You'd think it'd be over in the same amount of time as the regular 'ginites' go.. and probably be about as satisfying. But really it's a bit hard to figure out what to write, and I mean, the amount of time it's taken me to write up to this point (about 7 minutes) is longer than the average time it takes to lose one's virtue. But enough about the statistics of virtue.
I started my degree in Communications and Media Studies at the lovely University of Wollongong two days ago. My oh my, to be fresh meat in the Uni pecking order. I mean, nothings happened to me as of yet to make me dread this unavoidable label, but if you look at the 'UOW Stalker Space' on Facebook, there's already been a decent amount of complaints about first years.. Yeah thanks for the warm welcome guys. But anyway, yesterday went real fast, so it was no real issue. 45 minutes of listening to a lecturer go on about what you're going to look at, go over the course guide, introduce your Tutors and blah. blah. blah. The only regrettable thing about that lecture, is that it happens to fall on Monday mornings at 8.30. Fantastic. Now, you have to understand that I love a good night on the town, and Sunday's are no exception to this rule. But, it seems that going out on a Sunday will be an even rarer occasion than it already is.. but, no no no, I will not let this little lecture - in fact, the only lecture I have on Monday's - stop me from greeting my beloved North Gong with a grin and an I.D. And this, as you may have picked up on, will be the story of my next 3 years at UOW. I can imagine the Unibar and I will become quite well acquainted during this time. And as my high school Head Teacher of English kindly put it, I "will be queen of the Unibar".. And I have full intention of living up to that expectation.
To a more pressing topic, who I am attending UOW with.. Well, of course the lovely Shirin 'Rin Rin' Demirdag, my bestestestestestest friend is studying Arts there, and we have a few subjects together. There is also Amanda 'I love Steven' Mellor, who exquisitely enough is in the same degree and major as me, which means we'll be in a fair few classes together over the next couple of years. Excellent. And the major that we have chosen (Journalism and Professional Writing) even comes into play a bit with this blog right here. I mean, any extra writing won't hurt right? There are also the usual suspects that you would expect at Uni. Adrienne 'Adge' Corradini, Viktorija 'Viki-tori-jaaaa' Saric, Lisa 'May' Marsh and Caitlin 'Ling-ling' Nicholls, will all make guest appearances throughout their degree, and i'm sure my blog. And Steven 'I love Amanda' Ljubovic is going to the College so he'll be a regular too. Pretty sweet deal. Almost our whole high school 'group' is going to UOW in some form. Well, I guess that's enough from me on this first of possibly many blog post.. unless no one reads it, then i'll just give up. Sooooo, here it goes. Gonna lose that 'Blog-ginity', see you bud.
POPPPP!
